A photolith contact exposed from the original logo drawn by Rod Lord with Rotring pen on animation cell and filled in with black paint.
This photolith was registered to match the original drawing by Sellotaping it onto a 330 x 265 mm clear animation cell and re-inforced with a strip of punched 35mm film.
This piece was used with various colour lighting gels, masked around with black card and back lit under the rostrum camera. In conjunction with the photo film positive contacted from this it was used to create the familiar flashing sequences of DON'T PANIC ! For some unknown reason the Sellotape on both the photolith and the punched film strip have survived remarkably well. |
