Good morning All -

I hope everybody has been OK and been enjoying the pleasant bits of summer we've had. Maybe you've had holidays or are still having them. Hopefully you've all had a great time and are feeling rested and have managed to avoid being depressed by some of the truly awful things that have been and are going on in our world. But let's not go there ... this is about relative trivialities.

Well ... I did say "I may be some time" ... and I have been.

My intention was to dive into the remaining pile of artwork boxes and sort the wheat from the chaff. But the road to Hell is paved with good intentions and my route over the decades is now several layers deep !

For ages now I have been rather dissatisfied with the dated and static feel of the website and have been wanting to do something about it. I thought it would be a job that could be "knocked off" over a leisurely winter period in a fairly relaxed way. I should have known better really. I did start tinkering with ideas and approaches towards the end of Autumn 2023 but as usual all sorts of stuff kept getting in the way and time stretched ... just as I should be used to by now.

Anyway the task kept getting put to one side and when I stepped back in March earlier this year I thought "before I get into that I'll just quickly wrap up the website job ... it shouldn't take long." Ha !

This rambling preamble is to let you know that I have finally managed to go live with the re-vamped version and can now at last get back on the case hitting the artwork boxes. I do intend to add quite a lot of things to expand what is now offered in the new site but before I get bogged down in those I will sort through the artwork.

The intended additions include an expansion of what is offered as H2G2 digital prints as well as including the addition of some from scans of drawings and artwork that have been auctioned on eBay. I hope also to be able to add a section showing all those eBay items. All of that is assuming I have enough time before I drop off the perch.

In the meantime there is a LOT of additional background content in the new site including historic photos and Ciné and VHS footage shot in much earlier times including in the studio during the making of H2G2 and stuff covering the digital story.

If any of you do get round to checking it out I really would appreciate some feedback on first impressions and please don't hold back on criticism - it is all useful for me.

Meanwhile ... back to the artwork boxes ...

Cheers -

Rod
